Analytics at Work: Smarter Decisions Better Results by Thomas H. Davenport, Jeanne G. Harris and Robert Morison
Analytics at Work: Smarter Decisions Better Results by Thomas H. Davenport, Jeanne G. Harris and Robert Morison (Harvard Business School Publishing Corporation 2010). This is a follow-up book to Competing on Analytics (Davenport and Harris 2007). Analytics are becoming increasingly important in business. Gut feel will no longer suffice in this fast paced competitive economy. Regardless of the nature of the business – for profit, not-for-profit, large or small, the use of analytics in decision-making is becoming a competitive advantage. In Analytics at Work, the authors outline how to introduce and deploy analytics in your company. This is basically an implementation-focused guide. And it's based on research and examples from companies such as: Humana, Best Buy, Progressive Insurance and Hotels.com. It is a worthwhile read.
